Fanny Farmer Candy Stores

When the venerable candy maker was ready to update its image, Fanny Farmer Candy Stores turned to Richard M. Cole & Associates to marry its old-fashioned values with a more modern aesthetic. RMC&A’s prototype combined traditional materials and elements – arches, multi-paned and etched glass, custom cabinetry and white-stained maple wood – with bright color accents and a fully integrated sign system.

Charged with creating a prototype for AT&T’s first New York City cell phone store in 1996, Richard M. Cole & Associates started with the end-user firmly in mind to determine program and, ultimately, a workable retail design for the then-fledgling industry. Since then, RMC&A has designed 1,500 AT&T Wireless Services stores throughout the Northeast.

Nature’s Elements

Nature’s Elements

Nature’s Elements, a retailer of skin and hair care products, commissioned Richard M. Cole & Associates to design and implement construction of 25 stores in only nine months. The designs had to be consistent with Nature’s Elements’ corporate identity, while accomodating shops ranging from 800 to 2,000 square feet at locations as diverse as urban storefronts, shopping malls and historic buildings.
