Description

Maintaining the charm of a 75-year-old stone house while meeting the modern demands of a large family was the challenge when Richard M. Cole & Associates was commissioned to renovate an 8,000-square-foot house and build a 4,000-square foot addition. To ensure that the exterior view fit into its historic context, RMC&A designed a sensitive addition, built with stone from the same quarry as the original structure.

Inside, RMC&A enlarged rooms and designed a versatile dining room that is expandable to the central hall to accommodate large family gatherings. The firm also updated all electrical and mechanical systems and incorporated a state-of-the-art entertainment system.
