For an 80-year-old stone house that hadn't seen improvements in over 30 years, Richard M. Cole & Associates updated, enlarged and brightened the interior to create a commodious home for a family of five.

RMC&A designed a new, two-and-one-half-story family room and flooded it with light. One wall of the kitchen was opened to the new space and to an adjacent breakfast room to create a comfortably large family hub. The architect also reconfigured the floor plans of the second and third floors, installed four new bedrooms and converted a vacant top-floor attic into two children's bedrooms and a bath.
